February before High School graduation is a pretty bold time to ask that beautiful friend of yours to be your girlfriend - after all, so much unknown would lie ahead. But to Brinson, it was no question. Presley had already captured his heart. After 5 years of long distance - Birmingham to Athens - Brinson proposed to Presley out in La Jolla, California, along sunset cliffs. Presley's favorite part? "It was Cinco de Mayo... we got to celebrate with unlimited tacos and margaritas! Talk about my dream engagement."
Self-proclaimed as the girl who hasn't been planning her wedding her entire life, Presley only wanted a few key, simple elements to her day. "We wanted our guests to feel comfortable and relaxed, and more importantly wanted our wedding to be a celebration of God’s gift of marriage."
With the North Georgia mountains setting the backdrop for their beautiful outdoor ceremony, these High School Sweethearts joyfully hosted family and friends at Dahlonega's White Oaks Barn in March of 2017. Presley's attention to her details laid the foundation for a modern, classic celebration; she donned BHDLN earrings and a hairpiece, and her maids were dressed in sky blue Show Me Your Mumu gowns. Presley noted later that the Mumu gowns were the center of her decor inspiration and cohesion for the day.
"I chose a simple and authentic color palette, always being draw to cool blues, earthy greens, and pops of blush. Our flowers were beyond what we expected, and my bouquet about brought me to tears on our wedding day."
Guests enjoyed a mild-weather ceremony followed by a reception on-property, complete with a donut tower (Brinson's favorite) and a naked wedding cake; the perfect complement to the soft, natural day. The styling of the day was exquisite and executed by Ashley Irene.
"One of the greatest moments to us was walking into the reception, holding on tight to one another, being introduced as a couple for the first time as they opened the huge barn doors. It was truly a gift to see all of our people surrounding us in that moment."
The reception was complete with heartfelt toasts and a lot of dancing in the light of the moon (literally - White Oaks keeps the doors open, weather permitting, while guests dance the night away!)
Our whole wedding made us realize how incredible loved and supported we are by friends and family. We laughed, cried, and danced our way through the weekend. Past all of the excitement and celebrating, I got to say yes to spend eternity with my best friend.
