Kevin and Angela welcomed me graciously into their home on an early Saturday afternoon - one of those Fall afternoons that feels so perfect outside you forget that going inside is an option. In addition to the light pouring in from their new home addition of a sunroom, their backyard also opens up to beautiful foliage and light pouring through the trees. Angela, a librarian and lover of books, chatted with me and lent me books from her extensive bookshelf, while Kevin and I chatted about our love of math and teaching. It was the perfect afternoon in every way. Angela served us chips and dip while Saturday football played, and when sweet Hadley woke up from her nap, we made sure to document some family photos.
This session is significant to me in many ways - first and foremost, because this family was so gentle, laid-back, and exactly what I want families to feel like during a session. Secondly, I shot this session exclusively on film, which was my first session ever without a single digital photograph. I love that Hadley's fashion is better than mine and that she felt altogether comfortable to be a child. From the light that shone through her hair, to the way she ran around and played, this encompassed "lifestyle" better than I could have asked for.
Thank you three for trusting me + inviting me into your home. I am thankful for you.
